IPL Photorejuvenation

IPL photorejuvenation is a device-based treatment that uses intense broad-spectrum pulsed light to target the superficial and mid-layers of the skin. Light pulses are selectively absorbed by areas with increased pigment and the superficial vascular network, which helps reduce the appearance of pigment spots, redness and couperose. The procedure evens out skin tone and texture, and improves firmness and elasticity by stimulating collagen production. It is suitable for the skin of the face, neck, décolleté and hands, and is used to correct age-related changes, photoageing and dull, tired-looking skin

The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device generates controlled pulsed light with a defined energy level and pulse duration. A system of optical filters allows the practitioner to select the appropriate wavelength range for different indications: pigmentation, visible vessels, diffuse redness and uneven skin tone. The filters help direct energy into the target structures while minimising the impact on surrounding tissues. Additional handset cooling increases treatment comfort and reduces the risk of overheating the skin, and pulse parameters are adjusted individually according to the patient’s skin phototype and sensitivity

Oncological diseases (cancer)
Severe somatic diseases in a decompensated stage
Epilepsy and marked photosensitivity
Use of photosensitising medications
Active inflammatory or infectious skin conditions in the treatment area
Active herpes in the planned treatment zone
Recent intense sun exposure or tanning bed use (within the last 2 weeks)
Severe forms of diabetes mellitus
Blood clotting disorders, use of anticoagulants
Pronounced tendency to form keloid scars

Signs of photoageing
Dull, uneven complexion
Pigmented spots, solar lentigines
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Superficial vascular network, couperose, rosacea (outside of flare-ups)
Fine lines and reduced skin firmness
Enlarged pores and uneven skin texture on the face, neck, décolleté and hands

Results after a course of treatments (on average, 3–5 sessions are performed, depending on indication):

Skin tone becomes more even, with a visible reduction in pigment spots and superficial vessels. The skin looks fresher, firmer and more elastic; fine lines are softened and texture becomes smoother. Initial improvements are often noticeable after the very first session

Recovery

Immediately after the procedure, moderate redness and a sensation of warmth may occur; these usually subside within a few hours to 24 hours
Pigmented lesions may temporarily darken and then gradually lighten and flake off over 7–10 days
During the treatment course and for at least 2–4 weeks afterwards, it is important to avoid intense sun exposure, tanning beds, sauna and hot baths
A high-SPF sunscreen should be used every day
Do not traumatise the skin until it has fully recovered
